Episode 93 of the Fit Mother Project Podcast<\/a> is <\/span>all about <\/span>the power of support and how the right people around us can get us through anything.<\/span><\/p>\n In this episode<\/a>, you\u2019ll meet Harry Lorusso, a man with a unique and incredible story to tell.<\/span><\/p>\n In March 2019, at the age of 33, Harry was diagnosed with glioblastoma<\/strong>, one of the most complex, deadly, and treatment-resistant forms of cancer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He underwent a year of treatment at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and was enrolled in a trial that injected a virus in his tumor and included radiation, oral chemotherapy, and IV immunotherapy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The average life expectancy of a glioblastoma diagnosis is around 14-16 months. Four years have passed since Harry\u2019s treatment, and he\u2019s had no evidence of the disease since!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Harry deeply believes the most essential part of beating this disease was the power of support<\/strong> he got from his family, friends, and medical team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Once Harry\u2019s treatment was finished, he decided to shift his focus onto others battling this disease and founded <\/span>the Outlier Fund<\/span><\/a> with his wife, Dana. The Outlier Fund is a 501(c)3 dedicated to bringing hope to those impacted by glioblastoma by creating community, raising awareness and funds for impactful research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n These days, Harry loves spending time with Dana and their two-year-old son Wylie, and \u201cdoing hard things.\u201d In May of 2022, he completed his first 26.2-mile marathon and, in April of 2023, finished 9th overall in his first 33-mile off-road ultramarathon through the Blue Ridge Mountains.<\/span><\/p>\n This is an incredible conversation with a man we can all learn a lot from!<\/span><\/p>\n In this episode<\/a>, you\u2019ll learn about:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n So, if you want to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on the power of support, take some notes, and check out <\/span>FM30X<\/span><\/a>!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
